A. Louise Stoddard, 100, died Sunday August 20, 1989 at the Thomas Plant memorial Home in Bath, Maine. She was a retired nurse.
Born in St. John, New Brunswick Canada, April 13, 1889, she was the daughter of John and Grace Meyer Sime She attended the Lowell, MA General Hospital school of nursing.
For many years she was a night supervisor of nurses at the former Peter Brent Brigham Hospital in Boston, MA. She later worked as a Red Cross Gray lady in New Jersey and was active in the Glen Ridge Congregational Church.
In 1985 Mrs. Stoddard moved to Bath.
Surviving are two sons, Philip C. Stoddard of Brunswick and John R.B. Stoddard of New Bern NC.; six grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
A memorial service was held on September 5, 1989 at the First Parish Church in Brunswick, Maine, where the Rev. Dr. William C. Imes officiated.
A. Louise was cremated and her ashes were scattered with those of her son Philip in July of 1990 into the mouth of the Sheepscot River off Jones' Point on the Isle of Springs Maine.
