Antonia G. Garcia, 91, of Santa Rosa, NM, died Monday Jan 8, 1990 in De Baca General Hospital in Ft Sumner, NM following an illness. She was born Feb 10, 1898 in Colonias, NM to the home of Jose Gutierrez and the former Eugenia Crespin. She was raised in Colonias where she married Donaciano Garcia in 1920. They made their home in Santa Rosa in 1938. She was a housewife and a member of St. Rose of Lima Catholic church. She was preceded in death by her husband on June 3, 1956. Survivors include a son Celso Garcia and his wife, Justita of Albuquerque; a daughter, Eugenia Sanchez and husband Max R. of Albuquerque; also surviving are 9 grandchildren; 6 great-grandchildren; numerous nieces and nephews, and other relatives. The family prefers memorial contributions to the American Cancer Society. Rosary services will be recited Tuesday, Jan 9, at 7pm from St. Rose of Lima Catholic Church. Funeral mass will be celebrated Wednesday, Jan 10 at 10am from the Church. Burial will follow at St. Josephs Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday from 10am to 6pm at the Chavez Funeral Home and Wednesday from 9am to 10am at the Church. Pallbearers will be Robert Garcia, George Garcia, Jerry Sanchez, Bobby Sanchez, John S. Sanchez, and Tim Baca. Arrangements are under the direction of Chavez Funeral Home, Santa Rosa, NM.
