West Stockman, Milton Junction, who had been in ill health since last spring, died in Mercy hospital, Janesville, Tuesday night, Sept. 18. He entered the hospital seven weeks ago and seemed to improve until three weeks ago when he had a set back.
Funeral services will be held Friday, Sept. 21st, at 2 p.m. at the Gray and Albrecht funeral home, Milton Junction, with Rev. F. P. Hanaman of the M. E. church officiating. Burial will be in Milton Junction.
Robert West Stockman was born Feb. 1, 1864 in the town of Milton on what is now known as the Henry Yale farm. He was a farmer and lived here all his life with the exception of four years spent in Wyoming and later two years in New York state.
He was married to Helen Swaney on Oct. 25th, 1895, and they had four children, two of whom, a son and a daughter, died in infancy and the others, Robert and Charles reside at Milton Junction. His first wife having died in 1905, Mr. Stockman was married to Anna Nelson in December 1907, who survives him. Three children were born to them - Beulah (Mrs. Richard Rudisill) of Whitewater, Christine of Janesville and Westley at home.
Other survivors are two brothers, George of Milton Junction and C. E. Stockman of Cannon Falls, Minn., and a sister Anna Stockman of Dodge Center, Minn. A brother, Will of Milton Junction and a sister, Mrs. Carrie Rhodes of Ohio, preceded him in death.
