George R. DeLong, 95, of 130 Mud Run Road, Oley Township, Berks County, formerly of E. Walnut Street, Kutztown, died March 26 at 3:20 a.m. in Kutztown Manor Inc.
His wife, Luella C. (Weidner) DeLong, died March 19, 1989.
Born in Kutztown, he was a son of the late James B. and Stella (nee Adam) DeLong.
DeLong was a self-employed farmer in Maxatawny Township for more than 50 years before retiring in 1973. He was a road supervisor for Maxatawny Township for more than 10 years.
He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion Union Church, Maxatawny.
DeLong was a life member of the Kutztown Garange.
DeLong, who resided with Ella Richard, is survived by two sons, Richard G. DeLong, Ocean City, Md., and James B., Kutztown; and a daughter, Eleanor M. (DeLong) Hensinger, Winter Haven, Fla.
Other survivors include a sister, Maude (DeLong) Schaeffer, Kutztown; seven grandchildren, a stepgranddaughter, 12 great-grandchildren and two stepgreat-grandchildren.
He was predeceased by a daughter, Anna M. (DeLong) Bauman, in 1994.
