1968 - James B. DeLong, 83, of Maxatawny, died Thursday in Allentown Hospital. DeLong worked several years as a carpenter, after retiring as a farmer. Born in Maxatawny Township, he was a son of the late Alfred and Catherine (Herring) DeLong. He was a member of the Lutheran congregation of Zion Maxatawny Church. Surviving with his widow are a son, George R. Delong of Kutztown R. 2; two daughters, Esther, wife of John W. Wessner of Kutztown R. 2 and Maude, wife of John D. Schaeffer of Kutztown R. 3; a brother, Luther A., of Mertztown R. 1; a sister Ruth, wife of Harold Bock of Kutztown; 10 grandchildren, and 20 great-grandchildren. Services will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday in the Earl A. Trexler Funeral Home, 25 E. Weiss St., Topton.
