Born July 28, 1931 in Umatilla, Oregon to Martin and Irine Anderson. He spent part of his time growing up on his uncle's ranch in Caliente, Nevada, which he loved to reminisce about.
Virgil served in the military and worked most of his life in construction. He married Shirley Baggot and together they had one son, Jimmy; they later divorced. He married Margie Jones and helped raise her five children. Together he and Margie also raised his niece and three nephews of his brother Tom, and Tom's wife Doreen, after they were killed in a tragic auto accident. He was a true father to these children.
Survived by his brother, Martin; step-children: Dennis Jones, and Erma Solt; his brother's children, Debbie (Buck) Foster, Tom (Debbie) Anderson, Dennis Anderson, Darrin Anderson; and many nieces, nephews, and grandchildren. Also, special friend and cousin, Donna Powers.
Preceded in death by his wife, Margie; parents; brothers, Orville and Tom, step-children: Doreen, Jerry and Ronnie.
Graveside services will be held Thursday, March 20th, 11:00 a.m. at Redwood Memorial Cemetery, 6500 South Redwood Road. A viewing will be held one hour prior to services.
