Grace Olive Clendening, 88, widow of Karl R. Clendening,1710 C Ave. NE, a Cedar Rapids resident for 53 years, died in a local hospital Tuesday, following a brief illness. She was born June 9 1885 at Connersville Indiana. Mrs. Clendening was a Member of the St. Pauls United Methodist church, Pythian Sisters, Winter Temple #78. She served on The Staff for many years and was Also a member of the Past Chiefs Association. Surviving are three sons Karl R. of Cedar Rapids, Paul R. of Corpus Christi TX and Dorritt M of Milwaukee WI, one daughter Mrs. Ernestine Jones of Green Bay WI, fifteen grandchildren and fourteen Great grandchildren.
Memorial services will be conducted in Turner Chapel East at 1:30 PM Friday by Dr Arnold Herbst and the Winter Temple #78. Burial will be in Cedar Memorial cemetery. Friends may call at Turner East. All Pythian Sisters are asked to meet with Winter Temple at Turner East at 1:15 PM Friday to attend the service.
