BILL CUNNINGHAM

Mr. Bill Cunningham, 75, of Hubbard died Friday, July 16, 2004, in Corsicana. He was born December 26, 1928, on Cross Street in Hillsboro, son of the late Clarence Marvin and Mary Virginia Leatherwood Cunningham. He graduated from Hillsboro High School and entered the construction business immediately afterwards. He married Jean Ann Moffett June 14, 1947, in Hillsboro. He started Cunningham Construction in the early 1950s, retiring in 1991. He had lived in Hill County most of his life until moving to Navarro County in March of 1995. He was a Methodist. He was preceded in death by one sister, Doris Stokes, November 25, 1972. Survivors include: his wife, Jean Cunningham of Hubbard; five children, Gene Cunningham and wife, Debby, Joe Cunningham and wife, Mary Ann, and Terry Cunningham and wife, Kathy, all of Hillsboro, Paul Cunningham and wife, Nancy, of Richardson and Victoria L. Cunningham of Olympia, Washington; one brother, Charles W. Cunningham of Hillsboro; two sisters, Ann Bowman and husband, Garry, of Hillsboro and Pat Land of Hubbard; 19 grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren with another one on the way; and a number of nieces and nephews. Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, July 21, 2004, at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Directors Chapel in Hillsboro with Glen MacDonald of Hillsboro Church of Christ officiating. Burial was at Hillcrest Garden of Memory near Hillsboro. Memorials may be made to Young Life, 227 East Franklin Street, Hillsboro 76645; or Iron Springs Christian Camp, 104 PR 216, Whitney 76692.
