Born Feb. 3, 1922 in Henry County, he was a son of the late Margie Bell Belton and Sterling Belton. Mr. Belton was predeceased by five brothers, Daniel Belton, Sanford Belton, David Belton, Moses Belton and James Belton.
Mr. Belton a member of the Ridgeway Church Of God. He was retired from Fieldcrest Mills after 43 years of service.
Mr. Belton is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Ella Belton Roark and Les Roark of Lynchburg, VA; three sons and daughters-in-law, Jeffrey Belton and Kathy H. Belton, of Chatham, Donald Belton and Irene Belton of Laverne, TN and William Belton and Melissa Belton of Danville; five sisters, Martha Harbour, Bassett, Dorothy Hicks, Thomasville, NC, Ruby Tuttle, Darlington, NC, Ruth Taylor, Mechanicsville, VA, and Mary Keen of Plant City, FL; two brothers, Reuban Belton, Bassett and Joseph Belton of Medway, OH. Also surviving are four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
