Joseph W. Belton, Sr., age 94 of Dayton, passed away December 11, 2017. He was born September 9, 1923 in Martinsville, VA to the late Sterling and Marjorie Belton.

In addition to his parents, Joe was preceded in death by his wife, Dorothy Belton; daughter, Doris Bicknell; daughters-in-law: Kathryn Belton and Pauline Belton; brothers: Leroy Belton, Daniel Belton, David Belton, James Belton, Reubin Belton, Moses Belton and Sanford Belton; sisters: Mary Keen, Dorothy Hicks and Ruby Tuttle. Joe is survived by his sons: Joseph W. Belton, Jr., Richard Belton and Roger Belton; daughter-in-law, Claria Yost; grandchildren: Candice Bicknell Deberry (Cori), Anthony Belton, Amy Guardo, Greg Bicknell and Little Joe Lookinbaugh; great-grandchildren: Antonio, Nathaniel, Dominic, Mia, Christopher, Arrian and Jason; sisters: Martha Harbour and Ruth Taylor; numerous nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends, including: special friends: Debbie and Susan. Joe was a proud veteran of the U.S. Army Air Corps, WWII. He retired from General Motors after many years of service. He was a member of the VFW # 9936, the Eagles in New Carlisle, and the American Legion in Fairborn.

Visitation at Newcomer North Chapel, 4104 Needmore Road. Burial and military honors at Glen Haven Memorial Gardens.
