He served with 3 of his brothers. Timothy served under American Hero Colonel Herman Swift who was President George Washingtons'

favored Colonel. Under the Seventh Connecticut Battalion, with Major Theodore Woodbridge. 1775 – 1779 he was listed an officer listed as surgeons 'Mate'. From 1780-1783 he was listed as a Surgeon. He served with Captain Jonathan Warren's Company of Militia and Colonel John Serjeants Regiment
