O. Carmen "Corky" Olson, 87, Minot, formerly of Glenburn, ND, died Monday, June 11, 2012 in a Minot nursing home.
Carmen Olson was born on April 7, 1925 in Prescott Township, rural Glenburn, N.D. the youngest child to Ole C. Olson and Clara J. (Christenson) Olson.
He was reared east of Glenburn, N.D. and graduated from Glenburn High School. Carmen took over the family farm.
On September 30, 1955 he married Donna Mae Shong. They lived on the farm until they retired in 1983 and moved to Minot.
Those who shared in Carmen's life: Wife, Donna, Minot; sons; Terry Olson, Fergus Falls, MN, Steffen Olson and Kevin Olson, both of Fargo, ND; four grandchildren, Dustin, Heather, Heidi, Jeremy; former daughters-in-law, Debbie Olson, Lidgerwood, ND and Arlinda Olson, Fargo, ND; numerous nieces and nephews also survive.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Ole and Clara; sisters; Olga Koen, Mabel Peterson and Clarice Schimmelpfennig; brothers; Raymond, Milton and Henry Olson.
Funeral: Friday June 15, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. at Bethany Lutheran Church, Minot, ND.
Visitation and prayer service: Thursday, June 14, 2012, from 2:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a prayer service at 7:00 p.m., all at Thompson-Larson Funeral Home, Minot.
Burial: Our Savior Lutheran Cemetery, rural Glenburn, ND.
