Emma E. Beitz, 85, a resident of Alburnett since 1914, died Saturday at a Marion care center following a long illness. Born Aug. 1, 1895, at Mulberry, Ind., she was married to Charles Beitz on May 12, 1914, at Cedar Rapids. Mr. Beitz died Sept. 24, 1957 at Alburnett. Mrs. Beitz was a member of the United Methodist CHurch and was a Gold Star member of the Toddville American Legion Auxiliary. Survivors include five daughters, Mrs. George Adamson of Fort Wayne, Ind., Mrs. Don MacAtee of Troy Mills, Mrs. Robert Kline of Brownsville, Texas, Mrs. Shannon Newman and Mrs. Roland Morris, both of Toddville; three sons, Harvey of Cedar Rapids, Robert and Doran, both of Alburnett; one sister, Mrs. Inez Hendryx of Vinton; 20 grandchildren and 35 great-grandchildren.
Services: 2:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Murdoch Chapel, Center Point, by the Rev. J. Elmer Brunk of the Alburnett United Methodist Church. Burial: Lafayette Cemetery. Friends may call at the funeral home. A memorial fund has been established.
