Dwayne A. Cummins, was born to Rufus and Cornelia (Palmer) Cummins on October 11, 1924, in Armstrong, Iowa. He grew up in Armstrong and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. He married Virginia Stefanski February 18,1946, in Fairmont. He worked for various farmers in Emmet and Dickenson counties. He worked as a postal clerk in Dakota City, Nebraska, and for the soil conservation office until retiring in 1985.

He was a member of First Congregational United Church of Christ, in Hartington, Nebraska, Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5283, former scout master and former member of Hartington Fire Department.

Dwayne was 72 years of age when he passed away in 1996, in Hartington, Nebraska. Services were with at the First Congregational Church in Hartington, Neb., with military honors by Veterans of Foreign Wars Post No. 5283.

Survivors include: wife Virginia of Hartington, Neb.; son, Dennis and wife Kathy, of Hartington, daughter, Rita and husband Leon Pederson of Hartington; brothers, Beryl Cummins of Fairmont, Minnesota and Eldon Cummins of Ringsted, Iowa; six grandchildren; and one great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by his parents, two sisters and two brothers.
