Perry Eugene Edgar and Parthenia Ellen "Pattie" Power were married Dec. 9, 1880 in DeWitt County, Texas. He had just turned 23 years old. She would not yet be 16 until the following February.

Together, they had three children:

Maude Lee Edgar (b. 09 Nov 1881)
Abbie May Edgar (b. 27 Dec 1883)
Minnie Ellen Edgar (b. 09 Oct 1885)

Minnie was only 3 months old when her mother died. Perry's mother (Harriet Elizabeth Brown Edgar McManus) and her second husband (William Jasper McManus) took Minnie in and raised her in their home in Thomaston along with their own five children, Dede, Molly, Josie, Dudley, and Dalton. Minnie always spoke fondly of her paternal grandmother and step-grandfather and referred to them as "MoMama" and "MoPapa."

Perry was later remarried to Mary Lorena Lovelady on 22 Dec 1888. Together, they had nine children:

After Mary Lorena's death 09 Mar 1910, Perry was remarried to Maggie May Crouch White on 04 Apr 1915. Together, they had one child:

The bottom photo at the right is of the Edgar family plot in the Thomaston City Cemetery in Thomaston, Texas (mid-way between Victoria and Cuero, one mile from the Victoria county line). The gravestones across the back, left to right, are for: Perry Eugene Edgar (1857-1930), Mary Lorena Lovelady Edgar (1870-1910) Perry's second wife, Lee Everett Edgar (1906-1915), Perry's and Mary Lorena's son who died from blood poisoning from a boil when he was only 9 years old, and Maude Lee Edgar (1881-1973), Perry Eugene Edgar's first child from his first marriage to Pattie Ellen Power (1864-1886). The gravestone at the front on the right is for Perry's and Mary Lorena's daughter, Mayble Jeanette Edgar Journell (1897-1989).
