COLUMBIA - Funeral service for Beulah Jackson Byars, 84, will be held 12 noon, Friday, June 15, 2012, at St. Luke Lutheran Church, with burial in Greenlawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 6 until 8:00 p.m. Thursday, June 14, 2012, at Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel.

Mrs. Byars, wife of the late Ervin Byars, died Tuesday, June 12, 2012. Born on September 1, 1927 in Lumberton, N.C., she was a daughter of the late Enoch Walter and Henrietta Hewitt Jackson. Mrs. Byars was a member of St. Luke Lutheran Church where she was Church Secretary for 25 years and a lifetime member of WELCA. She was an avid bowler, golfer and enjoyed playing bingo.

Surviving are daughter, Diana Barlow of Columbia; daughter-in-law, Mary Kathryn Byars of Columbia; grandchildren, William Ervin (Lisa) Byars, Jr. of Columbia, Thomas Lee Byars of Surfside Beach, Justin Derrick Barlow of Columbia; three great-grandchildren, Alex, Chris, Jessica; five great-great-grandchildren, Austin, Conner, Kaylee, Bella, Joshua; brother, David Jackson of Burlington, N.C. and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her husband and parents, she was predeceased by son, William Ervin Byars; brothers, Walter and Joseph Jackson and sister, Peggy Adams.
