David H. Jackson, 91, of 1918 West Front Street in Burlington, passed away on Monday, October 24, 2016.Born in Dillon, SC, he was the son of Enoch Walter Jackson and Henrietta Hewitt Jackson. He was preceded in death by both parents; brothers, Walter Jr. and Joseph, along with sisters, Peggy Adams and Beulah Byers. A veteran of WWII, he was discharged from the Army Air Corps in 1945 as a Staff Sergeant having flown 34 missions as a belly gunner on B24 Liberator aircraft in the North Africa, Sicilian/Italian, and European theatres. As a resident of Burlington, Jackson was retired from Western Electric/AT&T Laboratories.He is survived by his wife of 65 years, Ruth Storey Jackson; sons, Jay (Shelly) of Boone and Joel (Cheri) of Atlanta, GA; daughter, Ann Cheney (Rob) of Charlotte; and grandchildren, David Charles Jackson, Megan Jackson, Mark Jackson, Nicholas Kavouklis, Alex Kavouklis, Paul Jackson, Erin Cheney, Caroline Cheney, Charlotte Cheney and Isaac Cheney.
