Howard R. Keiser, 84, Rt. 2, Poland, died at 2:45 a.m. August 27, 1990 following an extended illness.
Born in Nov. 6, 1905 in Clay County, he was the son of Oscar L. and Estella Telgemeyer Keiser.
He was a self-employed farmer and served as president of the Clay County Farm Bureau Inc. for many years. He was a member of the Bowling Green Masonic Lodge No. 85, F&AM, the United Church of Christ at Poland since 1922, the Scottish Rite, Valley of Terre Haute, Knights of Pythias at Spencer, the Bowling Green Eastern Star Chapter No.304 and the Co-op Credit Union.
He was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, George, Harold, and Lewis Keiser; and two sisters, Alice Pryor and Wilhelmina Riddell.
Survivors include his wife Leona M. Strauch Keiser whom he married on Feb. 23, 1935 in Terre Haute; three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Neal and Sue Keiser of Madina, Texas, Forest Allan and Dorothy Keiser of Rt. 2 Poland, and H. Norman and Carolyn Keiser of Rt. 2 Poland; six grandchildren; a brother Karl Keiser of Cicero, Ill.; two sisters, Nell Seidler of Sierra Madra, Calif. and Betty Clingerman of Terre Haute; several nieces, nephews and other relatives.
Services are scheduled for 10 a.m. Thursday at Rentschler-Slack Funeral Home in Center Point with the Rev. Brenton Harden officiating. Burial will follow in Poland Zion Cemetery. Visitation is from 4-8 Wednesday and prior to services. Masonic memorial services will be conducted by the Bowling Green Masonic Lodge No. 85 F&AM at 7:30 p.m. Wednesday.
