Leona M. Keiser, 88 of Poland, died at 3:46 a.m. June 22, 1996 in the Clay County Hospital. She had been in failing health for several months.
Born Dec. 7, 1907, in Clay County, she was the daughter of Edward and Clara Kattman Strauch.
She was a graduate of Wiley High School and Indiana Normal College, where she received a teaching certificate.
She was a homemaker and mother and had taught elementary school in the Poland and Bowling Green area for several years.
On Feb. 22, 1935 she was united in marriage to Howard R. Keiser, who preceded her in death on Aug. 27, 1990. She is also preceded by her parents, and two brothers, John and Ross Strauch.
Survivors include three sons and daughters-in-law, Harold Neal and Sue Keiser of Medina, Texas, Forest Allan and Dorothy Keiser of Poland and H. Norman and Carolyn Keiser also of Poland; six grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; a sister Louise Hauser of Poland; a sister-in-law, Betty Clingerman of Terre Haute; and several other relatives.
Services will be at 10 a.m. Tuesday at Lawson-Slack Funeral Home with the Rev. James Reilly officiating. Burial will be in the Zion Cemetery in Poland. Friends may call from 5 to 8 p.m. today and until service time on Tuesday.
