R. Paul Burrus, age 96, of Edwardsville, Illinois died at 12 noon, Friday, June 8, 2012, at Eden Village Care Center in Glen Carbon.

Paul worked as a teacher, car salesman, later retiring at age 91 after a 35 year career in banking. He married Mary Hess on April 26, 1941.

Mary preceded him in death on August 28, 2009.

Paul is survived by a son, Paul Burrus & his wife Elaine of Edwardsville; 3 daughters, Ann Brown of Decatur, Martha Taber of Edwardsville, and Julia Vitalie of Moro; 13 grandchildren including Todd Grinestaff, Chris Grinestaff, and Jason Grinestaff & wife Cami; 17 great grandchildren; Paul was preceded in death by a daughter, Marilee Mason & her husband Allen; 5 brothers, 5 sisters, and a son-in-law, Clint Taber, Jr.

Services entrusted to Weber & Rodney Funeral Home.

Following services Paul will be cremated with inurnment along with his wife Mary at Calvary Cemetery in Glen Carbon.
