Obituary of Franklin Archer

Industry - Franklin Archer, 67, of 380 E 1350th St., Industry, died at 5 a.m. Monday, Dec. 15, 1997 at his home.

He was born Dec. 18, 1929, in Littleton Township, to John and Nellie ( Gay ) Archer.

He married Elsie Skiles on July 8, 1951, in Industry. She survives.

He is also survived by two sons and one daughter ; six grandchildren ; one sister and two neices.

He was preceded in death by his parents.

Mr. Archer was a graduate of Industry High School and had attended Western Illinois University.

He served in the Army during the Korean War. He was a farmer in Industry township, near Doddsville, and had spent his entire life on the family farm. He was a lifelong member of the Doddsville Methodist Church, and had served as a Sunday School teacher there for many years.

He drove a school bus for the Industry School District for 22 years and was a historian of Industry and surrounding areas.

Services are 10:30 a.m. Wednesdy at the Clugston-Tibbits Funeral Home, Macomb with Marshall Litchfield officiating.

Burial will be at the Doddsville Cemetery in Industry Township.

The family will meet with friends from 7 to 8:30 tonight at the funeral home.

Memorials may be made to the Doddsville Methodist Church, the Industry Windmill Maintenance Fund, or the Pinhook Park in Industry.
