William L. (Jake) Cooley, 76,of Fairchance, Pa., died Sunday, July 16, 2006, as a result of an automobile accident. He was born on June 15, 1930, in Uniontown, Pa., son of Cliff Cooley and Helen Cain Cooley.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Esther W. Haines Cooley, one brother, James Cooley, one sister, Alice Swaney, two grandsons, Eddie Brangard and Dennis Lee Cooley and one son, William R. Cooley.
He is survived by three children, John L. Cooley and his wife Margaret, Dennis L. Cooley and his wife Michelle, all of Fairchance, Pa., and Alice L. Russell and her husband, George of Lemont Furnace, Pa.; several grandchildren and great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews; his companion of 14 years Anne Ditmore; one sister, Norma Laberdee of Jacksonville, Arkansas; and five brothers, Duane Swaney of Fairchance, Pa, Gene Swaney of Hopwood, Pa., Ronald Swaney of Seattle Washington, Jackie Swaney of Fairchance, Pa and Jerry Swaney of Mesa, Arizona.
The family will receive friends in the GOLDSBORO-TOMI FUNERAL HOME, 21 East Church Street, Fairchance, Pa. today from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m. and on Wednesday, July 19, until 10 a.m. the hour of service with Pastor Elmer Hall officiating.
Interment will follow at Mountain View Memorial Park, Brownfield, Pa.
