Madison, March 20, ----- The funeral of Guy Bangs, Greenwood County farmer and stockman, was held Saturday afternoon at 2 o'clock at the Madison Christian Church. Rev. E. H. Knepp, pastor of the Madison Methodist Church, conducted the services assisted by Rev. William L. Earl, of the Presbyterian Church, and Rev. F. M. McDonald of the Christian Church. A quartet consisting of Mr. and Mrs. Bert Bartlett, Mrs. A. C. Bean, and J. E. Pritchard sang, with Mrs. Elton Horton as the accompanist. The pallbearers were H. L. Soule, John Garst, J. H. Harris, E. B. Shaffer, A. A. Barnard and Joseph Imthurn. Burial was in Maplewood Cemetery, Emporia, where services were conducted by the Madison Masons. The funeral services were attended by a large number of friends from Madison and surrounding country.

A heart attack which caused him to fall into a water tank at this home near Madison is believed to have cause the death of Guy Bangs, 62. He had suffered several heart attacks in the last few months. Physicians said death was due to heart trouble and drowning.

The farm home of Mrs. Guy Bangs who lives west of Madison was partly destroyed by fire Tuesday morning. The origin of the fire is unknown by is supposed to have started from the furnace as it was first discovered in the basement.
