RITES FOR WILLIAM WENZEL
Services for William J. Wenzel, who died Tuesday afternoon at
Mercy Hospital were held at 9 a. m. today at his home, 43 Augustus St., with the Rev. Frederick G. Straub, pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, conducting the service at the home.

Services were held at 9:30 a. m. at St. Alphonsus Church. The Rev. Robert Meng, assistant pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, sang a requiem solemn high Mass with the Rev. Andrew Tueschell, assistant pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, as deacon and the Rev. Clarence Gardner, assistant pastor of St. Alphonsus Church, as sub-deacon. Father Straub was in the sanctuary during the Mass. Burial was in the family plot in St. Joseph's Cemetery where committal services were conducted by Father Straub assisted by Father Tueschell and Father Gardner.

Bearers were Francis Wensel, Frederick Wenzel Jr.. and Gustavo Wensel, three nephews of the deceased, and Nelson Oakley, Fred Treat and Fred Wenzel.

Mr. Weniel is survived by a daughter, Miss Helen M. Wenzel; a brother, Frederick Wenzel Sr., both of Auburn; several nieces and nephews. On Wednesday evening the rosary was led by Father Gardner assisted by Father Tueschell. On Thursday evening a large delegation of members of the Holy Name Society conducted their services at the home. The rosary was led by Father Straub.

On Thursday evening members of the Workingmens Sick and Death Benefit Association paid their respects at the home as did the members of the Loyal Order of Moose. Auburn Lodge, and the Utopia Club. On Wednesday evening, a delegation of members of the Auburn Lodge of Elks conducted their services. Elliott B. Newcomb, exalted ruler was assisted by the following: Leading Knight Frederick J. Welch, Loyal Knight Philip J. Conboy. Lecturing Knight George Frees, Secretary J. Edward Maloney, Chaplain Paul Brooks and Esquire William Kahl.
