Funeral services for Clifford Bear will be held Tuesday, June 12, 2012 at 2:00 PM at the Montesoma Baptist Church north of Okemah. Interment will follow at the Knight Family Cemetery in Okfuskee County.


Clifford Bear was born July 12, 1933 in Okfuskee County to Lonnie Bear and Annie (Coker) Bear. He passed away Friday, June 8, 2012 at his home near Haydonville at the age of 78.


Mr. Bear had been a resident of Okfuskee County all of his life. He worked many years as a Heavy Equipment Operator and also enjoyed working on and rebuilding lawnmowers. He served his country during World War II with the U.S. Army and was a member of the Montesoma Baptist Church.


He is preceded in death by his parents; two sisters, Stella Bear and Pat Noon; three brothers, Lucky Bear, Albert Bear and Atley Bear; two children, Robert and Rhonda Bear; one son in law, Elton Jimboy and one great-great-grandson, Mathias Contu.


Serving as active pallbearers will be Chester Bear, William Jimboy, Jake Guinn, Craig Bear, Ashley Tilley and Joseph McNac.


Honorary bearers include Dustin Bear, Jarren Bear, Steven Bear, Duke Tilley, Ray Knight and Jesse Guinn.


Services will be under the direction of Parks Brothers Funeral Home, Okemah and officiated by Rev. Jay Downing.
