Christina Finkbiner, nee Faust, was born in Heleshausen, Hessian, Germany, July 17, 1826. She came with her parents to this country when young, and was married at Indianapolis to her now sorrowing companion, Sept. 14, 1847. This union was blessed with eleven children, five of whom have preceded their mother into the Spirit Land. Sister Finkbiner was converted to God at a campmeeting in August, 1848, and immediately joined the Evangelical Association, the church of her choice, of which she was a true and faithful member until death. It can truly be said of the deceased that she was ever found at her post in the prayermeeting, Sabbath School and in public worship and always took an active part. Her life was that of a Christian wife, mother, neighbor and friend. Her desire was to do right before God and man and live for her Master and Redeemer. She departed peacefully on the morning of Jan. 29th, 1897, leaving to mourn her demise a husband with whom she had for fifty years enjoyed the happiness of Christian life as well as the hardships and trials of this earthly career. It was the lot of this aged couple to celebrate their golden wedding anniversary last September, but now all is ended. And soon, if faithful, they may live together forever, where no parting will ever take place. She also leaves one sister, 6 grown children, grand- and great-grandchildren and a host of warm friends. Her age was 70 years, (?) months and 17 days.
