Dr. Clyde C. Bitler,70, was a doctor in the New Castle,Henry Co., In. area. He was a son of William Thomas and Elizabeth Levoria (Tussing) Bitler. He married Anna Merle Burkholder in Greenville,Mich. on June 19, 1917. Then made their home in New Castle.

Dr. Clyde Bitler, 68, a prominent Newcastle physician and native of this county, died Tuesday morning in Newcastle after suffering a stroke at his home Monday.

Born in Jefferson township, he was the son of Thomas and Martha (Tufting) Bitler. His marriage was to Merle Burkholder. He was a graduate of the Indiana University School of Medicine.

Surviving are the widow; two sons, Tom of Newcastle and Robert of Knightstown; a brother, Cliff of Delphi; two sisters, Miss Flora Bitler and Miss Adelphia Bitler both of Jefferson township, this county.

Funeral rites will be at 10 a.m. Friday in Newcastle. The body will then be brought to the Pleasant Run cemetery where graveside rites are scheduled at 1:30 Friday afternoon.
