Funeral services for J. G. Barr of the Mt. Zion community were conducted Thursday afternoon, June 7, at Mt. Zion Church of God, with the Rev. J. D. Campbell and the Rev. Truman Butler officiating. Interment was in the Barr family cemetery. He was a member of the Mt. Zion Church.

Mr. Barr was born in Ash County, North Carolina on April 14, 1878, the son of the late Marion and Hannah Sapp Barr, and died Tuesday night, June 5, 1962, at Rosary Hospital in Campbellsville. He had been in ill health for several months and confined to his bed.

He is survived by his wife, Mrs. Ida King Barr; four daughters, Mrs. Lula (D.D.) Eastridge, Mrs. Willa (Oscar) Wood, and Mrs. Zella (Jake) Stayton, all of Route 1, Casey Creek, and Mrs. Connie (Oscar) King of Ashland, Illinois; one son, Willard Barr, Hopkinsville, Ky.; two step-children, Mrs. Bernice Reichardt of Pennsylvania and Paul Graybeal of Virginia; two sisters, Mrs. Dora Eastridge, Route 1, Casey Creek and Mrs. Bertha Holcomb, Knifley, Ky.

Pallbearers were Don Barr, Dwight Eastridge, Harold King, Ralph Eastridge, David King, and Kenneth Wheeler.
