He was born March 17, 1920 in Petersburg, West Virginia.
Dewey was a U.S. Army veteran of World War II.
He was a retired House-Parent for the Milton Hershey School.
Dewey was a former member of the Hershey Free Church.
He was preceded in death by his wife: Nina Alt; and, his son: Larry Alt.
Dewey is survived by two granddaughters: Melony Booth and Nancy Alt; two grandsons: Ori Baluyan and Arut Baluyan; and, daughter-in-law: Gayane Bakunts-Alt.
A visitation will be held Monday, June 11, 2012, at 09:30 AM followed by the funeral service at 10:00 AM in the Hoover Funeral Homes & Crematory, Inc., Route 422 & Lucy Ave. in Hershey.
Interment will be in the Indiantown Gap National Cemetery.
