ELLETTSVILLE, IN - Colleen Hurst Green, 84, of Ellettsville, died 6:30 a.m. Friday, April 25, 2008, at the Richland-Bean Blossom Health Care Center in Ellettsville.
Born Sept. 6, 1923, in Douglass, Kan., she was the daughter of James T. and Ruby Josephine Hurst.
She was a graduate of Haven High School in Haven, Kans.
She was a certified professional secretary (CPS).
She moved to Ellettsville from Dallas, Texas when she retired. While living in Ellettsville, she worked several years at the Ellettsville branch of the Monroe County Public Library.
She loved animals, especially her dog, Roly, and the late cat, Bobby Bob, and her canary, Larry Bird. She loved to read and read her whole life.
Survivors include her daughter, Peggy Zonkle of Ellettsville; two grandchildren, Bonnie Zonkle of Indianapolis and Sam Zonkle of Bloomington; two neices, Adele Diane Sumner of Cottonwood, Ariz., and Lesa Sanford of Sylvia, Kan.; one nephew, Steven Paulsen of Stafford, Kan.; and her brother-in-law, Lee Paulsen and his wife, Carol, of Stafford.
She was prededed in death by her parents and one sister, Patsy Ann Paulsen.
Graveside services will be held at a later date in Stafford.
