PIONEER GROVER, GARNET BARRON, IS DEAD AT 74
Soulsbyville, Nov 12 - Garnet T Barron, retired business,an and one of Tuolumne County's most prominent civic leaders died at his home here early Saturday morning. His death culminated an illness of several years duration which had become more acute in recent months. Mr Barron was 74 years of age.
A native of Soulsbyville, he was a son of the late W H Barron, pioneer grocer man of Tuolumne County who first started a grocery store in Confidence and later moved it to Soulsbyville where it remained in operation for 79 years.
Mr Barron married August 8, 1900 to the former Miss Edith Harry at the home of her parents in Almaden, Santa Clara, and the couple made their home in Soulsbyville during their entire married life. They were the guests of honor at a reception celebrating their Golden Wedding anniversary at their home, Aug 6, 1950.
Funeral services under the direction of the Burden Company were held Monday, internment in the family plot, Odd Fellows Cemetery in Sonora.
Mr Barron leaves his widow, two daughters: Mrs Lois Doyle of Berkeley, Mrs Dorothy Ball of Utah, a son Beverly Barron of Sonora and three grandchildren.
