Dean Inman Tubbs, 84, Florence, Ala., died Tuesday, Oct. 11, 2011, after an extended illness. Mrs. Tubbs was the owner of Bill's Florist for almost 40 years until her retirement. She was a member of the Church of Christ. She was preceded in death by her husbands, B.M. (Bill) Tubbs Jr. and Pascal Cantrell Sr., and son, David A. Tubbs Sr. Mrs. Tubbs is survived by her daughters, Barbara Tubbs Hill and husband, Johnnie, Florence, and C. Ann Tubbs, Dallas, Texas; one sister, Cleo Harris, Tennessee; eight grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one great-great-granddaughter. The chapel service will be at 2 p.m. Friday, Oct. 14, 2011, at Spry-Williams Funeral Home, Florence, Ala., with Brian Jarrett officiating. Visitation will follow immediately after the service. Honorary pallbearers will be Billy Ray Richardson, Carl Cassidy, Carolyn Hamilton, Billy Elkins, Paul Bernauer, Adin Batson, Barbara Jean Hale, Rob Blackwood and Jim Longshore. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Scholar Dollars, P.O. Box 2545, Muscle Shoals, AL 35662-2545, PAWS (Pets are Worth Saving) or Hospice of the Shoals. We would like to express our appreciation to all her caregivers over the past year at Brentwood Alzheimer's/Dementia facility and Mitchell-Hollingsworth.
