Mrs. Bernice Walker, age 67, passed on Monday, October 15, 2007, at the East Georgia Regional Medical Center after an extended illness. The native of Bulloch County was a retired custodian and a former employee of Georgia Southern College and the Pittman Park United Methodist Church. At an early age she joined the Johnson Grove Baptist Church.
She is survived by her loving children, Joann Jackson, Statesboro, Johnny Walker, Glennville, Jimmy Walker, Statesboro, and Jerry Walker, Atlanta; three sisters, Hattie (Jimmy) Boone, Macon, Katie Chavers and Cola Scott, both of Atlanta; eight grandchildren, six great-grandchildren, a host of other relatives and friends.
The funeral service for Mrs. Walker will be held at 1 p.m. Saturday, October 20, 2007, in the Ben Samuel Hill Memorial Chapel of Hill's Mortuary, Inc. with the Elder Joseph Mosley officiating. Burial will be in the Eastside Cemetery. Final rites entrusted to Hill's Mortuary, Inc.
