Louis Fojtik, 58, of the Tavener community passed away Sunday, February 24.
Funeral services were held in the Urbish Funeral Home in East Bernard with Edward L. Marek, President of the Supreme Lodge of the SPJST, officiating. Pallbearers were Albert Brown and Sidney A. Harmon of Houston; Alex Lyle, Bay City; Joe Matula, Van Vleck; Melvin Eastman, Cedar Lane; Frank Brdecka, Beasley, Honorary pallbearers were Frank Kovar of Tavener community and Tom Pyka of Beasley.
Mr. Fojtik was born in Hungerford. He moved with his family to the Tavener community in 1915.
He is survived by eight brothers, Jim of East Bernard, Frank of Tavener Community, Ignac of Beasley, August of Van Vleck, Julius of El Campo, Albert of Bellmore Long Island, New York, Edwin of Tavener Community, and Phillip of Schulenberg; three sisters, Mary A. Eastman of Cedar Lane, Frances Eastman of Cedar Lane, and Agnes Tavener of Tavener Community.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother.
For the last eight years, he made his home with his sister, Mrs. Agnes Tavener in the Tavener Community. Louis was born and reared on the farm. His interests were gardening, livestock and the great out-doors.
Interment was in the Methodist Cemetery under the direction of the Urbish Funeral Home.
