Jack Force, 77, of Hamilton, died June 1, 2012, at the Knoxville Hospital under the care of Hospice of Central Iowa.

He was born to John Wade and Velda (Wellman) Force on Sept. 22, 1934. He married Phyllis Trinkle on July 4, 1954. To this union, one son, Dan, and two daughters, Sandra and Kathy, were born. Jack owned and operated Lovilia Bait and Tire for 28 years. Prior to that he worked for Affholder, Inc. in St. Louis, MO., doing underground boring and tunneling.

Survivors include his wife, Phyllis of Hamilton; children, Dan Force of Hamilton, Dr. Sandra(Bill)Hecht of Lenexa, Kan., Kathy(Mark)Robertson of St. Peters, MO.; seven grandchildren, Robert(Vanessa)Hecht-Ren, Will(Hannah)Hecht, Carl Specking, Jennifer(Brian)Glick, Jake(Nikki)Force, Allison Force and Russell Baker; six great-grandchildren; three stepgreat-grandchildren; three sisters, Helen Purcell of Oskaloosa, Marjorie Cox of Bussey and Madelyn(Bob)Lupher of Des Moines; and many nieces, nephews and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, two twin brothers, Elmer and Delmer, and one sister, Betty Redding.

Funeral services will be at 11 am Monday at the Bussey United Methodist Church in Bussey; the Revs. Dale Shoening, Neil Montz and Ray Doser officiating. Burial will follow in Greenlawn Cemetery in Bussey. Visitation will be held from 5-8 pm Sunday with the family present. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Knoxville's Hospice of Central Iowa.
