Marjorie Mae "Marge" Cox, age 93, of Bussey, Iowa, passed away on June 2, 2023, at her residence.
Friends and family are invited to pay their respects during the visitation at the First United Methodist Church in Bussey, Iowa, on Tuesday, June 6, 2023, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. prior to the funeral service at 11:00 a.m. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Cemetery in Bussey.
Marge was born on January 15, 1930, in Eddyville, Iowa, the fifth child of seven born to John and Velda Force. She graduated from Bussey High School.
Following school, Marge worked as a switchboard operator at Bell Telephone Company, the Overall Factory in Oskaloosa, and Chamberlain's in Albia. Marge then worked and retired from Rolscreen in Pella.
Marge was united in marriage to Paul Blendin Cox on November 12, 1948. They were blessed with 41 years of marriage before his passing in 1990.
Marge is survived by her children: Daryl (Jane) Cox, Tim Cox, and Monica (Dennis) Reed; nine grandchildren; 20 great grandchildren; and six great-great grandchildren. Marge is also survived by one sister, Madeline Lupher of Des Moines, Iowa.
Marge is preceded in death by her husband, Paul Cox; two infant sons, Caryl Cox and Stephen Cox; son, John Cox; grandson, Dennis Ray Reed, Jr.; two great grandchildren, Natalie Ann Cox and Raelynn Hart; and her parents, John and Velda Force.
Marge loved going on road trips and spending time with her family (especially her grandkids). Marge never drove a car, but enjoyed driving the lawn mower. Marge had a sharp mind and a great memory and was known for having a sweet personality in her community. She will be remembered as a great cook, and she liked visiting with people.
Memorials may be given in her memory to the First United Methodist Church of Bussey.
