She spent her early years in Brigham City, Garfield and Salt Lake City, Utah and moved to San Jose, CA. after her marriage. She also spent time in Ogden, UT, Fergus Falls, MN, and Provo and has spent the last 30 years living with her daughter in Orem, UT.
She was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and served in many callings in Relief Society, Primary, Sunday School and Young Woman's. She also served as an ordinance worker in the Provo Temple for 10 years, and served a mission in Atlanta, Georgia in 1981 and 1982.
Besides being a wife and mother she enjoyed gardening, sewing, and all types of handwork. She won many ribbons in the California and Utah county and state fairs for her crocheted baby outfits. She also spent many years working as a Secretary for San Jose Welfare Dept., and Lockheed.
She is survived by 3 daughters and 1 son; Glenna Hollenbeck, Bealton, VA, Barbara (LaVor ) Neuenswander, Livermore, CA, Layne (Ellayne) Evans, San Jose, CA, and Valene (Ron) Chipman, Orem, UT. 13 grandchildren, 30 great-grandchildren and 22 great-great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Glen Robert Evans (1975), her parents, brother, daughter Janice Dotson, and two grandchildren.
Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m. Saturday, June 9, 2012, at the Geneva Heights Stake Center, 546 North 500 West, Orem, Utah. Graveside services will be held at 10 a.m. Monday, June 11, 2012, at the Wasatch Lawn Memorial Park, 3401 South Highland Drive, Salt Lake City, Utah.
