He was preceded in death by his mother and father, Mrs. Bertha and Charlie Thompson; daughter, Yolanda Forest; sister, Mattie Delores Thompson; brother, Louis Wilson and one uncle, Sammie (Ophelia) Polk.
He leaves to take pleasure in his memories, daughters Valetta Thompson, Moss Point, MS and Fannie (Darrell) Jessie, Atlanta, GA; a devoted grand-daughter, Sandra Coleman, Moss Point, MS; granddaughters, Michelle Stringfield, Atlanta, GA, Monique Stringfield, Ocean Springs, MS and Shannon Smith, Atlanta, GA; a grandson, Jerome Christopher Forest, Pascagoula, MS; great granddaughters, Mya Richardson, Kacha Coleman and Bria Stribling; great grandsons, Kendrick Stribling II and Jamerian Ezell; two special friends, Ms. Mary Smith and Mr. Paul Thompson; Mrs. Elizabeth Benefield and countless co-workers and students of Resurrection Catholic Schools and many other relatives and dear friends.
Charles Thompson also known as "Mr. Charlie" to many had been considered somewhat of a saint at Resurrection Catholic Elementary School for the past forty-four years. He not only considered his job work, but a place to interact with the many students and faculty that he met and greeted on a daily basis. He loved everyone and those fortunate enough to have come in contact with him felt likewise. His presence will be missed immensely by all who knew him.
Funeral services will be held 3:00 p.m. Sunday, June 3, 2012 at Resurrection Catholic Elementary School Gymnasium, 3704 Quinn Drive, Pascagoula, MS with the Rev. Joyce F. Gant officiating. Viewing will be held 2:00 pm to 2:45 pm.

Interment will be in Gabriel Cemetery, Pascagoula, MS.
