Full Name: Wanda M. Adams Humes Metzler

Age 83, daughter of the late Floyd "Cappy" Adams and Florence Hathaway Adams.

Wanda graduated from Strong Vincent High School. As an auxiliary member of Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 470, she served as its president, vice president and secretary. She also served as chairperson for the Northwestern Pennsylvania Veterans Poppy Association, which honored her with several awards. She was a member of Elmwood Presbyterian Church and the U.S. Navy Mothers Association, and she volunteered with the March of Dimes. She enjoyed watching baseball, football and basketball. She also enjoyed music, dancing, creating floral arrangements and playing bingo.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Archie L. Metzler, in 1975; a brother, Ray Adams; two sisters, [Evelyn] Tooti Keller and Donna Carnes; and a granddaughter, Stephanie Metzler.

Survivors include a son, Chuck Metzler and his wife, Judy, of Cambridge Springs; a daughter, Linda Smith and her husband, Douglas, of Albion; a sister, Betty Pettis and her husband, Robert, of Andover, Ohio; a brother, Mark Adams and his wife, Nancy, of Lake City; five grandchildren; and four great-grandchildren.

Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery.
