Mrs. Carnes was a machine operator having worked for C.G. Woods, Marx Toys and Precise Plastics prior to her disability. She graduated from Girard High School in 1948 and attended the Federated Church.
She was preceded in death by a brother, Roy Adams; and a sister, Evelyn Keller.
Survivors include her husband, David A. Carnes; five daughters, Lauren Platz of Avondale, Mo., Cheryl Hermann of West Springfield, Pa., Peggy Gariepy of Lake City, Debra Mooney of Fairview and Tina Robertson of Erie; three sons, Rick Godfrey of Girard, Richard Godfrey Sr. of Pasadena, Texas, and Michael Godfrey of Fairview (d 9/13/2014 age 53); two sisters, Wanda Metzler of Erie and Betty Pettis of Andover, Ohio; 16 grandchildren and four great-grandchildren.
Burial will be at Girard Cemetery.
