Mrs. Pearlie Saylor Johnson Russell, 83, of Rio Vista, entered Eternal Glory on Sunday, July 20, 2008, at her residence surrounded by her family.
Born in Leslie County, Pearlie had lived in Harlan County for 70 years. She was a loving mother and grandmother, and was a member of the Cornerstone Community Church at Baxter.
She was preceded in death by two husbands: Bradley Johnson and George Russell; her parents, John D. Saylor and Celia Forrester Saylor; two daughters: Edna Fannon and Barbara Lewis; three sisters, Elizabeth (Lizzie) Skidmore, Dora Skidmore and Matilda Saylor; and six brothers, Barney, Bill, Ray, Will, Garrett and Otto Saylor.
Pearlie is survived by seven children: Anna Curtis (Don) of Pathfork; Tony Johnson (Cathy) of Baxter; Shelia Howard (Nathaniel) of Pathfork; Brenda Turner of Putney; Mike Johnson (Sandy) of Baxter; Nelson Johnson (Wanda) of Baxter; and Tim Johnson (Verda) of Elcomb; one brother, Guy Saylor (Dorothy) of Corbin; 18 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are a host of nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Visitation will be from 5-9 p.m. Tuesday at Loyall Funeral Home.
Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday at Resthaven Cemetery with Rev. Jeff Mills officiating. Interment will follow.
