Albert Steiding was born to John Bernhardt Lebrecht and Mariea Elizabeth (Batree) Steiding in Barton, Allegany County, Maryland. He had siblings: Wilhemena, John Ernst, Herman and Ferdinand Steiding, while living in Barton. After moving to a big farm near Deer Park, Garrett County, Maryland, he then had sisters Mary Augusta, Annie Marie, Elizabeth "Lizzy", Marie and brother Henry. July 19, 1887, Albert married Eliza Elanor Jones in Mineral County, Maryland. Eliza was the daughter of Thomas Jones and Sarah W. Whitehouse. Albert and Eliza had the following children: Grace Mildred, Charles Albert, John Bernard, Edith M., and Ruby O. Steiding. Albert was a B & O Railroad Car Repairman.They lived in the McCoole-Westernport area. He and his wife were buried in Queen's Point Cemetery, Keyser, Mineral County, West Virginia.
