"Mrs. Elizabeth Moran Taken by Death Today"

"Mrs. F. D. Moran, nee Elizabeth Vanderpool, 71, lifelong Biloxian, died today at 1005 a.m. at her home, 120 East Bay avenue. Her husband, Captain Moran, who died about seven years ago, was a pilot at Ship Island for many years, and her father L. B. Vanderpool, a Confederate, helped construct the first railroad into Biloxi. Mrs. Moran formerly had been a member of the United Daughters of the Confederacy, Altar Society at St. John's Church and other church organizations. She always had been particularly interested in church affairs, working in the bazaar and other activities. She is survived by six children, Mrs. Orey Young, A. P. Moran, supervisor of Jackson county, Ocean Springs; Ed Moran, Cedar Lake; Harold and Otto Moran and Mrs. Vera Smith, Biloxi. The funeral will be from the home at 3 p.m. Sunday with services at St. John's Catholic Church by Father J. P. McGlade."
