Death Claims Herman Vander Wilt, 82
Mr. Herman Vander Wilt died on Monday, June 5. He had reached the age of 82 years. He suffered a lingering illness, however he became critically ill the past week.
Mr. Vander Wilt was born at Pella and after coming here farmed near Middleburg for two years and then moved to Sioux Center They lived in town for the last 38 years.
He was united in marriage to Anna Maris who preceded him in death on April 9, 1947. Two sisters and three brothers also preceded him in death, Mrs. John Hubers, Mrs. Nick Bomgaars Gerrit Vander Wilt, William Vander Wilt and Anthony Vander Wilt.
He is now survived by his only daughter Mrs. John T. De Boer and two granddaughters Mrs. Herman De Vries and Mrs. Wm. Beernink, and one great granddaughter Vicki Lee Beernink.
He is also survived by one brother Walter Vander Wilt of Sioux Center and one sister, Mrs. William Bomgaars of Newkirk.
Funeral services were held on Wednesday afternoon at the home and at the First Ref. Church, Rev. P.A. De Jong officiating. Special music was furnished by Mrs. Floyd Achterhof and Mrs. Gerald Schut who sang "Safe in the Arms of Jesus". Burial took place in the local community cemetery and acting as pallbearers were Paul Van Donge, Gerrit Doornwaard, Ben Sandbulte, Gerrit Koerselman Tunis Den Herder and John Ver Burg.
