COOKEVILLE -- Funeral services for Mrs. Claryce Elaine Kelly Ferrell, 80, of Cookeville, will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday May 25th, at Cookeville First United Methodist Church. Interment will follow in Crest Lawn Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 5-8 p.m. today, Thursday, May 24, at the Cookeville Chapel of Hooper-Huddleston & Horner Funeral Home and from noon until time of services on Friday at the church.
Mrs. Ferrell died Tuesday evening, May 22, 2012, at her residence.
She was born June 1, 1931, in Whitwell, to the late Rixey Norwood and Edna Lewis Kelly.
She was a graduate of Whitwell High School in Whitwell, and attended Tennessee Tech. She was married to Zollie Ferrell for 55 years.
Mrs. Ferrell was a homemaker and assisted her husband, Dr. Zollie Ferrell, with his dental practice. She was a member of Cookeville First United Methodist Church and served as a Sunday school teacher for many years.
She was an avid golfer and a member of the Ladies Golf Association at the Cookeville Country Club. She enjoyed playing in pro/amateur tournaments.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Zollie Ferrell; a son, David Ferrell; a brother, Rixey Norwood Kelly Jr.; and a half brother, Dana Kelly.
Pallbearers will be family and friends.
