Clara 'Mama Pete' Cargill
FILLMORE -- Services for Clara "Mama Pete" Cargill, 96, Tishomingo, will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 18, 1999, at the Fillmore Church of the Nazarene with the Revs. Eugene Ledford and George "Bud" Cargill officiating. Interment will follow at Condon Grove Cemetery in Milburn under the direction of Clark Funeral Service.
Mrs. Cargill died March 15, 1999, in a local health care facility. She was born July 31, 1902, in Tishomingo, Indian Territory, to Socrates "Crat" and Molly Walter Bennett Callen.
She married Ervin Cargill on Dec. 6, 1919, at Milburn, and they moved to California in 1940. She lived there until returning to Tishomingo in 1992 to be near her son. She was a homemaker and had always been very proud of being a charter member of Fillmore Church of the Nazarene. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, in December 1968; an infant daughter, Imogene; and three grandsons, Doug Sizemore Jr., Terry Autrey and Jimmy Baughman.
Survivors include four daughters and two sons-in-law, JoAnn and Ralph Pynchon, Tishomingo, Oneta "Sissy" Johnson, Concord, Calif., Thelmet and Doug Sizemore and Sylvia Autrey of Nampa, Idaho; two sons and daughters-in-law, Lee and Roberta Cargill, Fillmore, and David "Crat" and Shirley Cargill, Nampa.; 20 grandchildren; 38 great-grandchildren; and 17 great-great-grandchildren.
Bearers will be Dale Callen, Larry Callen, Randel Johnson, Jaybird Callen, Brett Cargill and Donnie Joe Reed.
