Barbara Smart Madsen, 92, passed away suddenly at her home on May 20. Barbara was born Sept. 27, 1919 in Tooele to George and Margaret Murray Smart. Barbara graduated from Tooele High School, class of 1938. She married Don Robert Madsen on Jan. 9, 1943 in Evanston, Wyo. In 1964, her marriage was solemnized in the Salt Lake Temple. She loved to do things with her family. We are grateful for her daughter Colleen's help, enabling her to live in her home until her passing. During her life, Barbara worked for the telephone company and Farmer's Insurance. Barbara was always caring for others, making dinners and helping those in need. She also loved music, crocheting and traveling. Most of all she loved her family. She is survived by daughters Colleen Madsen, LuAnn (Scott McBeth) and granddaughters Jennifer (Scott Eatchel) and Jamie (Nathaniel Groo) whom she loved dearly. She is also survived by her brother Dale Smart. She was preceded in death by her husband, parents, one sister and one brother. Funeral services will be held May 24 at 11 a.m. at the Tooele 7th Ward, 1025 W. Utah Ave. (200 N.). A viewing will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. at the church on Thursday. Interment, Tooele City Cemetery.
