Died 4:15 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 23, 1993, at Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center. She was 87, a native and resident of Grosse Tete. Visiting was held at St. Joseph Catholic Church Hall, Grosse Tete, 4 to 9 p.m. Sunday, with prayer service at 6 p.m. Sunday and recitation of rosary at 7 p.m. Sunday. Visiting at the church hall 8 a.m. Monday until Mass of Christian Burial at St. Joseph Catholic Church, Grosse Tete, at 10 a.m. Monday, conducted by the Rev. Myles Kearney. Burial in church cemetery. Survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Mary Sue and Willie J. Sr. Romig, Grosse Tete; a son and daughter-in-law, Alex Jr., and Florence Chauffe, Grosse Tete; two sisters, Adeline LeBlanc, Baton Rouge, and Sadie Seitz, Port Vincent; three grandsons and granddaughters-in-law, Jerry and Rebecca Romig, Alex III and Linda Chauffe and Michael and Dianne Chauffe; two granddaughters and grandsons-in-law, Judy and Robert Glaser and Karen and Eugene Dupuy, all of Grosse Tete; and great-grandchildren, Jeremy Chauffe, Michael David Chauffe, Angela Chauffe, Amy Dupuy, Jennifer Dupuy and Cody Romig, all of Grosse Tete. Preceded in death by husband, Alex Chauffe Sr.; a great-grandson, Jonathan Dupuy; numerous sisters and brothers. Pallbearers will be grandsons and great-grandsons. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and Altar Society, Grosse Tete. Rabenhorst Funeral Home, 825 Government St., in charge of arrangements.
