On 25 July 1836, she landed in New York harbor aboard the ship Greenock with her parents and their children. She was listed as 4 years old.

Her parents were Sarah and Thomas Keys. They arrived in the Oregon Territory sometime before, 19 July 1854 when Emily married William Logan Armstrong in Linn County. Her father died, 04 October 1873 and the couple's, Oregon Donation Land Claim #4662 was passed onto Sarah Keys.

It is assumed that upon Sarah's death the land became the property of their children.

Miss Emily Keys married Mr. William Logan Armstrong on 19 July 1854 in Linn County, Oregon.
