Mrs. Rowell was born September 11, 1922 in Coffee County, Georgia to the late William Henry & Samantha Elizabeth Grantham Goff. She lived most of her life in Irwin County and was a homemaker. She loved her family and enjoyed gardening, sewing, quilting, and crocheting. She was of the Holiness faith.
She is survived by her seven girls and their spouses: Vera Mae & Herman Smith of Alma, Mattie Young of Wray, Lene Rowell of Douglas, Lizzy & Carroll Young of Wray, Jessie Lee & Hershell Jones of Douglas, Peggy & Larry Bess of Ocilla, and Deborah & Jack Conner of Abbeville; 12 grandchildren; 29 great-grandchildren; and 14 great-great-grandchildren; as well as a host of nieces and nephews. Her special companions also survive: Tiny & Crockett.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband: Waldo Rowell; a daughter: Melba Grace Rowell; a son-in-law: Clinton Young; two sisters: Lillie Rowell and Lucy Chaney; and an infant brother.
